Thomas Tuchel has opted to stick with the identical England squad that secured victory against Andorra and delivered an impressive display in Belgrade during the previous international break, leaving no room for the Real Madrid star and the Manchester City attacker in his group for the upcoming friendly against the Welsh side and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.
Despite Phil Foden pushing for a return to the squad after regaining his top condition at his club, and Bellingham having returned for his Spanish club following a surgical procedure, the national team manager has decided against selecting two of the nation's most prominent offensive stars. Bellingham has started only once for his club since his comeback.
The England boss has made room for Bukayo Saka, who is back to fitness and has been reinstated in place of his injured Arsenal teammate Noni Madueke. The experienced attacker has not received a return to the squad.
Tuchel highlighted the vibrancy in the previous selection and appears determined to keeping the same atmosphere. The Newcastle defender, who started at left-back in the convincing victory in Serbia, has been ruled out due to a knock. Tuchel has opted against selecting a direct replacement for the Magpies star but has included the Manchester City defender, who had to withdraw previously. He has spoken about the Manchester City defender's significance for England and has suggested deploying him in the middle of the park.
There is no place for Adam Wharton, who was selected in the previous squad but withdrew due to injury and was replaced by the Milan player.
The manager stated: “It was only three weeks after the last camp and the most recent victory, the latest display, so the question was why not select the identical squad in because they established a benchmark. The focus now is on creating habits out of it. We have unfortunately a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Livramento and Madueke and we bring of course the Arsenal forward in to take the place of Madueke. Jarell Quansah was a late call-up previously; he will stay in camp.”
